Well I think many of you will recognize the name of Bryson lol. Yes, one of the sons of Sister Bryson. I went to him yesterday for a kinesiologist appt yesterday. The goal was to make sure that nothing was wrong with my intestines like others in the family and to find out what he thought I was allergic to..
He ended up telling me the following
Avoid
Red 40
High fructose corn syrup
Caffeine
Chocolate (except dark is okay on occasion)
Add (to Diet)
Iodine
-seaweed
-kelp
-seafood
Omega 3 fatty acids
butter
eggs
flax seed
spicy
-ginger
-turmeric / curcumin (curry)
-capsaicin (cayenne)
Red 40 is in everything by the way haha.. it's the most used food coloring in the world, Yellow Number 5 is number 2 competitor for the top spot... and it's almost a million pounds above Yellow Number 5...
We'll see how seriously I end up taking this dietary instruction =) It's not like I eat junk food that much. "Avoid" doesn't mean never eat.

Sending off Michael
Well, I went over to Michael's house yesterday around 7 o'clock just to drop by.. spend some last minute time, and give him the scrapbook that I made him from the past year. We sat on his couch with the rest of the family doing their own things in the living room, as he looked through the book. We chatted for a while, and then went on a walk. Nice alone time, where we could hug goodbye, and that kind of thing..
I started crying while we were hugging.. which I guess is good. I felt really at peace almost immediately afterwards.. so I know it's what the Lord wants, and that we're all just following along the right plan right now.
Afterwards we went back to his house, and his family had him running around posing in different places, like with his rabbit Lucy, and on top of the infamous red car. It was fun to watch, and I also got some pictures in too. Then he gave me a pint of my favorite Mint Chocolate Ice Cream, because he knew that there hadn't been much ice cream around the house lately, and that I really need my ice cream when I'm depressed lol. I had actually been eating icecream all day cuz I convinced my dad to get me some the day before.. but I still went home and finished off the pint. ^_^
I'm glad things have finally happened, and we're no longer in super limbo. But I am now, once again single in my life.. which will be interesting I guess.

Tin Phone
Well today i tried the experiment of tying string between two tin cans.. but it didn't work so well. I think it's cuz the way i have the cans situated so that the string is taut.. the vibrations don't travel well because its around a corner or two... and etc.. and i think the distance is too big.. i think it's only sposed to work for distances of up to 20ft.. ho hum lol
but it didn't work any ways.. made me sad. =/ lol. itd be cool to have someone across the street from me and we could communicate thru our secret tin cans. cooler as a kid im sure.. but still.

Sending off Paula
We didn't do much really. Paula and her mother looked through my little scrap book that I made for Paula.. and just kinda took a tour of her room "empty" which pretty much looks the same as it does with her stuff in it. And we sat around and talked a little.. and got on her computer so she could show me pictures and I could make her watch my awesome Target ad video. Every now and then her mother would call down asking if she forgot some item, which paula had indeed forgotten lol. Hopefully she doesn't forget my scrap book! =)
I'm not sure when exactly it'll feel really real that she's gone.. but for now.. I'm still sad about it.. even if it'll prolly hit me the most when she's not there on sunday. And Michael won't be there either. I was tempted to stop by starbucks on the way home and use my giftcard that I got in NY to get a shake or "blend" or whatever they call it.. but I was a little low on gas so I decided not to.. but I really want ice cream... and all we have is a tiny container of sugar free banana nut or something.. and you know how hard sugar free ice cream always is.. makes it almost not worth the effort.. who knows maybe I'll splurge and go buy myself icecream ...
we'll see.

My Ear
Well... i went and had my appt today.. felt kind of useless to me.. like most of my doctor appointments do lol but oh well. I guess the doctors feel like they're serving a purpose. I basically went in.. waited for like 30 minutes longer than I should have had to... and then went in.. and he came in shortly thereafter.. and I took the band-aid off my ear and he took out the cotton.. looked in my ear with his little thingy, and said "yup the packing's still there" and putt the cotton back in.. and blabbed to me about sending his son that's my age off to college this week for 5 minutes.. and then sent me on my way.. lol.
Yah kind of lame.. so I'm supposed to start putting drops in my ear every day to dissolve the packing.. so that he can look and see if the patch took.. like.. in Thanksgiving =/ I get no information until then..

I am The Horse :
Self-reliant, Joyful, Outgoing, Sophisticated, Greedy, Resilient, Arrogant.
People born in the year of the horse are the real workers, they will not stop until the job is finished, but it must be in their own time. They have razor sharp minds and can sum up a situation in seconds, some times too quick for their own good, and they will leave before getting the whole picture. Horses often have several projects on the go at the same time. They are confident, ambitious and expect to reach the top of their chosen paths. The horse values the opinions of others and will change course when advised by people they respect They are quick to lose their temper, but seldom bear a grudge.
Horse lovers are eternally young at heart. They sail through life on a whim, spontaneous and open-minded waiting for the next big adventure. Horse lovers are charming and affectionate. They are inspiring with their imagination and vigor, their intellect and wit. They make you want to be around them and thus hardly have problems securing Saturday night dates. Horses are energetic spouses who fall in love quite rapidly. Along with their spontaneity comes a bit of impatience and they demonstrate that when they meet someone they want to be involved with. They throw all of themselves into a relationship, sometimes losing tiny bits and pieces of themselves along the way. However, a light at the end of the tunnel: in adulthood Horses are more stable and thus their adult relationships are more successful. Horses live their lives in full swing. They have boundless energy and spend more time on the go than they do at home.

Free Rice
Just my little advertising gimic to throw in here.. but this website is basically a game, where it gives you a word.. and 4 options for the definition. For every word you get RIGHT they donate 20grains of rice. There is 48 grains of rice in one Gram, and it take 400 grams of rice to feed one person for one day. So every little bit helps. Their first 5 months in business they got enough rice to feed over a million people.
So basically they're trying to build up our vocabulary, while trying to stop world hunger! It can be fun, so trrryy it out.

Speaking of educating the free world.. here's a random interesting tidbit for you:

Pictures

Well today Michael and I went on a date to take pictures. So basically we just walked around downtown and drove around to a good portion of our good old date spots to make memories, and just to have more pictures together! lol. It was super hot outside to be walked around, but it was still fun. We got to ask lots of random people to take our picture.. and if you look at michael's blog, you'll find wonderful details of how we were at Zilker Park and I nearly got ran over by a passing bicyclist cuz I wasn't paying attention lol. I'll leave you with some of the pictures. Our spots include but are not limited to... Zilker Park canoeing, Amy's Ice Cream (the cows!), the benches by the church, the Clock Tower Park by the church, bowling and Wendy's!
But we also took pictures that were classically austin.. you know.. UT Tower, The Longhorn by the Basketball Stadium, and such.

Big Event
Well, today I really didn't do much.. except I received my new battery for my phone in the mail today! Which was really exciting. It's not really a perfect fit.. but oh well, it works. Now I should have a longer batter life than like.. a day.. lol.. maybe back to my old 1-2 weeks! that'll be super exciting. Now my phone looks brand new.. atleast from the back. lol.
And of course.. I don't think I included the good news that after 45 minutes of sitting on the line with customer service.. I finally got my voice mail working on my phone so that if i don't answer.. people calling me actually get to hear my voice message! Very exciting. Means if I don't recognize your number.. and you don't leave me a message.. I will assume it was a wrong number and I will not call you back, cuz I don't know who you are! Who wants to waste minutes? Not me!

Below is the link to tonight's KEYE - Marching Band Challenge (2008); group one (included- LBJ, Anderson, McCallum, McNeil, Reagan). The winner of these 5 drumlines will advance to the finals - competitng for the grand prize... a big chunk of money (awarded at halftime of the NFL Dallas or Houston season's opener).
I watched all the videos, and the only one that comes close to LBJ is McNiel. So if you wanna watch the two good videos.. it'd be those two. It'll be real close.... but vote for my alma mater!

Not Pregnant
I forgot to put in the most important part of the story! The whole reason they wanted my pee sample was to make sure I wasn't pregnant! Lol. I actually kind of hoped I couldn't pee cuz the lady said if it came down to it, they might just let my mother sign a waiver saying "we promise she's not pregnant" lol
Made me happy when the nurse came back and said "It was negative". I laughed.
the female nurse had faith in me.. even if the male nurse did not.
lol. just a short dust bunny i thought i'd share with ya. lol

Surgery Day
Well I wasn't too hungry when I woke up this morning.. which was nice! Since I wasn't allowed any food after 10pm the day before. It was at 10pm that i was hungry lol. Yesterday though I had planned to go off and do things.. and then i crashed on my bed with the light on so thats okay lol.. i just woke up early this morning to take my shower and take the nail polish and jewelry off (they said noo nail polish, why? whoo knows). We left at 7:36 and got to the surgery checkin room at 7:55 (Bailey Square).
Check in was dandy.. and we only had to wait for like 10 minutes before they called us back to my little room. Then we prolly waited another like 15 minutes before this guy came in and asked questions and told me I hadda give a pee sample to prove I wasn't pregnant =/ And I was like.. hello I've been fasting.. and I already went to the bathroom today.. not that long ago.. there's nothing in me with which to pee! He wasn't very considerate to the fact.. and told me to do it anyway.. so i tried.. and failed--no der.
Then another nurse came in.. she was nice i liked her. She asked me to change into my little hospital gown. And then she covered me with warm blankets and numbed up my hand, and put the IV in, and then proceeded to inject me with water for the next 20 minutes and then sent me to the bathroom. This time I succeeded.. but it took effort man lol. Just to let you all know. Which I'm sure you're thrilled to know.
A couple other nurses came in.. my anesthesiologist for the surgery and just whatever.. each asking their own little individual questions.. and a couple over lapping questions. All this time my mother taking pictures like I asked her to ^_^ I taught her how to use the camera first. i was a little worried for a while when i got there cuz they said they might do tympaniplasty, he asked me if it was okay if he took tissue from behind my left ear since behind my right ear is mostly scar tissue now. which would have meant i was more likely to be throwing up.. and i wouldnt have been able to eat as much food.. i would have been on liquid and saltine cracker diet for a while.. and it would have meant both sides of my head hurting instead of just the one...... and having much more balance issues.. and just.. a major pain.. but I got myringoplasty instead of tympaniplasty.
Then it came time for me to be wheeled away in my little bed to the surgery room. Before I had even sat down on the surgery bed they hooked my IV up to the general anesthesia and it takes 30 seconds for it to fully kick in.. so the second I was laying down on the bed I was out. I have some vague memory of the recovery room.. i remember thinking that it wasnt the surgery room and it wasnt my little waiting room. Nothing other than that. I mainly just remember waking up in my little room again, and seeing my litte mommy waiting for me. And soon a nurse noticed I was awake and gave me 4 whole graham crackers and a cup of apple juice.
A little later I requested from the other nurse (the one i liked) if I could have more graham crackers and another cup of apple juice. But she freaked out thinking they'd already fed me way too much.. and i was like..... but it was only 4 graham crackers.. then she found out I'd had myringoplasty instead of tympaniplasty and she gave me more food lol. I wish I could have hospital jello.. they've never given me hospital jello. Then she took my IV out.. and after a few minutes I was able to get dressed and be wheeled away in my wheel chair. But my doctor (Doctor Scholl) came in to see me first.
Since I'd noticed while I was in the waiting room before my surgery that there was a little park behind the hospital.. we stopped by so I could take a picture in the swings. Kinda made me feel sick to swing in them tho so I only did it for like a minute.. for the purpose of taking pictures only. Then we hopped in the car, and stopped briefly to take a picture in front of the hospital sign.. and then went home and ate some chicken noodle soup on the couch.. When I promptly fell asleep on the until 4:30 (I think we got home about 12:45).
We had soup for dinner too! A different kind though. And I think next I'm watching Nim's Island (my mommy bought it at Walgreens today when she was getting my meds and I had already wanted to see it). Then I wouldnt be surprised if I went to sleep.

The Day Before
Well as we all should realize.. today was my last official day of being able to swim for the rest of the summer... pretty much anyways.. since I have surgery tomorrow on the hole in my right ear drum.
However, I didn't have a car ever available to me today in order to go down to the public pool.. and i didn't really feel like walking the two miles up there, much of which is uphill. So I found the kiddy pool in the garage that jeff and elessandra bought and left last time they were over.. blew it up Myself.. and filled it with water! I think i sat around in it for a couple hours, and near the end I got a little bored.. and thought I should record this momentous occasion.. with some pictures!
Since we didn't really take many pictures at the beach.. these are my only swimsuit pictures for the summer! lol. Good times though I think. And I think I got a little bit more tan! lol. Atleast more of a tan line is evident.
